About The Author
Elina Kamensky is a high-school student, artist, science enthusiast, and aspiring physician-researcher. Her interest in digestive health grew through clinical volunteering, science coursework, and her love of children’s storytelling.
Inspired by the imaginative science adventures she enjoyed as a child, Elina created The Gutsy Heroes to help younger readers understand that healthy choices are not simply rules. They shape an extraordinary living world inside the body.
How The Gutsy Heroes Came To Life
After shadowing many endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures during her volunteering at a hospital, Elina became fascinated by the digestive system and microbiome. Over the months that followed, she repeatedly rewrote the manuscript, repainted and refined the characters, and worked closely with a designer to bring her vision to life.
